Kenya's players have been given the all clear following a lengthy investigation by the ICC's Anti Corruption Unit (ACU). The news was passed to Samir Inamdar, the Kenyan Cricket Association's chairman, by Malcolm Speed in a letter earlier this week.
The investigation followed the trial of former Kenyan captain Maurice Odumbe last year, which resulted in him being handed a five-year ban for his alleged association with an Indian bookmaker. Claims were made at the time which resulted in the ICC moving in.
Martin Hawkins, a member of the ACU, is due to visit Kenya this weekend as part of ongoing investigations into claims that funds paid to Kenya for cricket development might have been misappropriated.
The new KCA executive has also revealed that it has inherited debts in excess of $500,000 from the old regime. An insider said that the board has written more than once to Sharad Ghai, the former chairman, and other senior members of the previous executive asking for documentation relating the operation of the KCA to be returned but, to date, no replies have been received
