Sachin wins Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award

Sachin Tendulkar has been awarded India's highest recognition for
achievement in sports for the year 1997. He is the 7th recipient
of the award named as 'Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna' award instituted
in 1991. The award is worth Indian Rs. 100,000 and a scroll of
honour and a plaque.
Indian cricketers Saurav Ganguly and Ajay Jadeja receive Arjuna
awards along with 17 others from varying sports fields.
The President of India will give away the awards in a special
function on August 29th, 1998.
